Well, I did sleep some last night...I woke up a lot but got back to sleep pretty quickly...got up at just before 11 am, I was going to go to the gym but was unmotivated so I got exercise by working in my flower beds. I cleared out a LOT of onion grass and debris that has collected over the winter, there were a couple of pieces of broken glass, who knows where they came from. I spread out some nice topsoil and it looks good now. I also put out my "lawn jewelry" as my friend Kris calls it. You know, the stuff where the artist uses old copper pipe and glass and makes a beautiful lawn sculpture, I have several pieces. It really feels like spring now that the lawn jewelry is out! I sweat a lot, it felt good. I didn't even take a nap today! :^)

I was facing a hamburger for dinner, then my parents called and we went to the Olive Garden...YUMMY! I had to tease my mom a little, there was something when we were little kids, she made 8 of something, there were 5 of us (Mom Dad and 3 kids) and we said, "Oh, look, 8...2 for each of us!" It has become a big family joke. Well, the waiter brought 5 breadsticks...I said, "Oh, look, 5, 2 for each of us!" HA HA

Well all of a sudden my Clie N610C, my first PDA and baby, went all screwy, the screen doesn't respond, well, spottily at best, and if it does, it responds to an icon 2 icons over from where you tap the screen. Bummer! I was going to sell it, but now I can't of course. But I am selling off all my accessories, check out my ebay auctions HERE and HERE . The first auction is for a cable I have that will connect your N or S series Clie (N610C, N700C, N710C, N760C, S300, S320) to certain models of Motorola Cell phones, there is a link on my auction page to the company's web site, also there is a list on the auction page of the models it works with. You can use Sprint Wireless Web or a similar service to check your e-mail and surf the web in real time on your Clie. It's very cool, I already have ordered one for my T615C.
It retails for $59.95, I have had it only 4 months, it is in great shape, bidding starts at $25, "Buy it Now" for $40. The second auction is for a whole boatload of accessories for the N-series Clie. I have the Sony Classic Leather Slim Case, (there is a link on the auction page to see it in detail), not one but two Pocket Armor cases from DS International, one still in its original packaging...a pic of these cases is on the auction page. Also there are 3 styluses, 2 dark blue and 1 dark green, 4 Companion Link Screen Protectors, plus the credit-card looking thing you use to apply and smooth out the protector, plus a car ("cig") charger, plus the original HotSync/Charger cradle (USB) that came with the Clie. And if you need an extra installation CD and/or the manuals, I will throw them in at no charge, I guess I don't need them anymore :^) I paid well over $200 for these items, they are all in this auction, starting at $50, "Buy it Now" for $125. So check out the auctions, tell your friends :^)

I sadly had to abandon my old (12 years!) Denon receiver. It is cool but is woefully out of date. I bought an Onkyo receiver at Circuit City, they had to order it but supposedly it won't take more than a week. I got free speakers with it too! I was having trouble finding a receiver with S-video inputs, it blows my mind that my Sony TV I bought 12 years ago has S-video inputs, but the newest Sony receivers don't! Wild!

I think I will go see "The Rookie" tonight, I love Dennis Quaid, and Rachel Griffiths is my new fave from Six Feet Under. I read a good review of it, it is a true story, and in real life this coach did try out for and make it to the majors, well, the review said, only Disney can make you root for a foregone conclusion!

I have to post about my auctions at PalmBlvd.com, then head to the movie! Good night! :^)

So work was soooo busy today! I was running all day, never did get to lunch. We have a thing at work where the pharmacist assigned to 6T and 10T (the Bone Marrow Unit and the Oncology/Renal unit) helps out in the IV room, double-checking chemo, and covering the IV room while that pharmacist goes to lunch. Well, this sounds good in theory, and it is...for the IV room pharmacist, they get to go to lunch about 11 am. But by then the 6 and 10 Tower person has been away from their floors for an hour, and they have to go back up and do bunches of orders, then inevitably at about 1 pm, when you see light (or lunch) at the end of the tunnel, there are usually new chemo orders for you, and they take time! This was the 2nd time in 2 weeks I did not take a lunch break. Other pharmacists have experienced similar "business" and have not taken lunch. I may have to say something to my boss. I'm not sure what the answer is but I don't know if this can go on.

Josh from Landware e-mailed me today, he is going to try to call me 5/2 at 10:30 am EST. I will keep you all updated :^)
Let's just say I am not holding my breath.

There was a HUGE beautiful rainbow this morning as I drove into work.. Very cool!

My wonderful therapist is letting me come Monday instead of Tuesday this week so I can go to the CE program at Ruth Chris Steak House...mmm...asparagus as big as your head...shrimp cocktail...DROOL!

Like I said, no lunch break today, there is a male nurse on 10 Tower, he makes yummy brownies and cupcakes. I had 2 cupcakes today. I told him, (He's new up there)...Dude, you make good food..you will fit in just fine! I made brownies last week and they were a hit. The secret ingredient is lots and lots of butter flavored Crisco. I almost need to make 2 batches, there are so many people there. When I worked for Clarian, I used to bring brownies and I would tell everyone they were there, people would say, "Oh, I will get one later," Well, they would come back and they'd all be gone, and they would be all, "You didn't save me one!" I never said I would! Then certain male pharmacists who shall remain nameless would take 3 or 4 brownies, how selfish! It got to where I almost couldn't stand to bring in brownies, a fun thing turned into a source of conflict. But they are good! :^) And people at St F took brownies early, very smart.

My friend Jack Saturn is having an online "garage sale" of sorts, check it out at Ebay and Skylab Commerce He needs $$ to publish the latest edition of his 'Zine, which you can buy for the low low price of $2. You can paypal Jack at wagnc@saturn.org It's good stuff, check out the link to his resume over on the sidebar, someone get this talented man a job!

Well, I was so tired today (Well, Friday), I was busy and didn't get a lot of sleep Thursday night. So I came home, ravenous, ate some dinner, then I was just going to take a 30 min power nap, which turned into a 300 minute power nap, that's 5 hours for you who may be mathematically challenged. BAH! So who knows if I will be able to sleep, but I am going to give it a try. Good night/morning!

Quick affirmation (5/18/02)...you were tired, you took waaaayy too long a nap, that's ok, let's look forward to the time where we won't be sleep-deprived, after Susan helps us to solve our sleep problems. It happened once, for a few weeks, it will happen again, forever this time!

CAVEAT EMPTOR! All Palm users please read!
I hope I am the only one this has happened to or will happen to, but I can't get any accounts to show up on Pocket Quicken for my Clie (PDA, "Palm Pilot")...I have been e-mailing back and forth to tech support, I have done everything they suggest and still nothing! It's very frustrating! Then "Ed," my contact there, told me to call customer support. It was a (201) #...I e-mailed him and asked him if there was a toll-free #...No, and they aren't allowed to call out either...what BS! I e-mailed Ed and told him I didn't think I should have to pay, and whom should I speak to regarding a refund? Well, then he e-mails me back and says, and I "Copy and Paste...
"I have forwarded your email to one of my managers. I have been informed that I will be allowed to contact you for additional support. Give me your daytime number, or any number you wish to be reached, and I will contact you as soon as possible"
Well, I e-mailed him back and said, once again I copy and paste...
"Ed, I don't think I should have had to threaten to demand a refund in order not to pay for customer support. That is pretty poor service if you ask me. I don't want you to call me, I want a refund!
Please let me know whom I may contact regarding this.
Thanks in advance for your prompt attention to this matter."
So now "Josh" e-mails me back and tells me, (C & P)
"I'm sorry about the trouble you've encountered. Unfortunately, we cannot issue a refund because it was not purchased from us directly. You are subject to the return policy of the place of purchase.
We're certainly happy to continue helping by email, but it would probably save a lot of time and frustration to continue by phone, because we are able to try multiple things and react to your environment in a more timely fashion. Generic example: if we need file X and can't find it, we can go look for file Y without having to wait for an e-mailed response.
Providing support can be very expensive, and we only ask that you pay for the phone call, which is quite common. Other options are to charge per incident/call ($30-50 for most companies), or by increasing the cost of the product, neither of which we want to do. If you call Intuit (the makers of Quicken), a 900 number is provided and you have to pay $1.95 per minute for support! Non-toll-free numbers are probably the most economical way (for customer and company) to provide support, except for web/email.
I hope that you will let us help you to solve your problem. I'm confident that we can get Pocket Quicken working for you."
Then he included a bunch of e-mails between myself and Ed...then at the very end of the e-mail, which I just happened to see, he typed, (C & P)
"Do not delete previous parts of this conversation.
He must have "Customer Service for Dummies" or something! I e-mailed him back...(C & P)
"Josh, I especially liked the part at the end where you said not to delete previous parts of the conversation...I just happened to scroll down to see how much was there...ordinarily I would not have!
But don't worry, I wanted to call your attention to where Ed says he is allowed to call me. I will hold you to that. I must tell you that I have called Intuit, you have to root around their website but I have never paid 1 cent to talk to them. I have called them regarding numerous matters and have used 1-800#s for all communication.
...And unfortunately I cannot take the software back, COMPUSA has a 14-day policy, and 14 days after buying the software I was still e-mailing back and forth with Ed, hoping against hope that he and I could get it to work! :^(
I am working quite a bit in the next few weeks; the first day I would be available for Ed (or whomever, it doesn't matter to me) to call would be Thursday 5/2/02...Please do not call before 10 am Eastern time, no one who calls me before then gets an answer! My home phone # is (***) ***_****. I would say you have my phone #, but I have been trying since day 1 to register my software on-line, and have been unsuccessful. I have been disappointed overall with this experience. Ed has tried his best, but obviously I have become less and less hopeful to the point that I have been ready to give up!
I am starting to wonder if anyone has ever gotten this to work...SIGH!!! :^(
And as for paying for customer service being a way to keep costs down, yeah, just keep telling yourself that, buddy! It is a way for customers to go elsewhere, somewhere who provides free customer support!
I say these things based on my experiences with other companies, you can take them with a grain of salt, I just want to tell you this customer's opinion! I will be awaiting your response and a phone call.
Regards-"
Anyway, the whole thing has been very frustrating, if anyone has help for me re: this I would be happy to take any advice! Thanks!

My blogstickers are up on Blogstickers.com! Just scroll down to the "Regina Cohen Collection!" I am so excited! If the link here in the post doesn't work, there is a link to Blogstickers.com over on the sidebar, look in the upper left hand corner of the screen (your left) and go to page 12.` Scroll down to the "Regina Cohen Collection." "The Regina Cohen Collection"...sounds pretty KEWL to me! He didn't use them all, and one he didn't use was the Sesame Street homage you see on this post! I was kind of bummed, I e-mailed it back to Gary just in case he didn't get it the first time. But I am so excited, this is HUGE for me, I feel famous :^)

All of a sudden my "old" Clie, the N610C, has a problem...the screen doesn't respond at all...I have used the stylus, my fingertip, nothing works! I can't understand what is going on! I am so bummed, I was hoping to sell it soon, and I certainly won't sell it if it doesn't work! :^( Again, any advice welcome!

Ok, so all of a sudden IE works again...I can type in a web address, and like magic, well, not magic, just what is supposed to happen, IE takes me to said site! What a miracle! :^P

I went to HH Gregg today to look for a reciever. I moved my "old" DVD player upstairs when I got a new DVD Player/Receiver, now I need a new receiver for upstairs. I told the salesman this and asked him to find the price of some speakers I saw. Partly because I thought the speakers looked cool and partly to give him a job to get him out of my hair for a minute. He came back and told me the price, I was considering it. Then he asked me if I was finding what I wanted. I reiterated what I was looking for and why. Then he said, "You **have** a DVD player, correct?" "Yes, that's right!" I told him. "So, have you thought of a whole new system new DVD player, everything?" "No," I replied. "I barely need 2 DVD players, I don't need 3!" He said, "I'm just throwin' it out there!" I said nothing and walked away, Clearly he did not listen to my needs. I could have said something but it was so not worth my time! I was kind of proud of myself! Even a year or so ago, I would have blown up at the guy! But like I said, it's not worth it! :^)

I went to that CE last night at the Marten House, but couldn't find anything there except a Central Indiana Pharmacist's Ass'n meeting. I looked and my name wasn't on the list, so I left. I called my mom to see if she wanted to have dinner, and she told me my niece Helen had a program that night. The annual "Spring Sing." I asked her why I didn't know about this sooner. She said she told my sister to tell me, but she didn't. Mom told my brother, but not me...SIGH! She aplogized afterward, I said, "Well, it's because I am an afterthought!" She slapped my arm (lightly) and said, "Stop talking like that! You are not!" Well, I feel like I am, that's why I am in therapy! The program was very cute, songs from "Free to be You and Me!" Helen did the movements better than anyone (I am not prejudiced, she really did!) and was so serious, she only smiled after the song was over. So cute! I was glad I could be there. I had to park on a curve, kind of illegally, but then I saw some people park in that space in between the handicapped spaces, that isn't really a space, it's room for a big van and/or a wheelchair, then I felt better. Not for them, just about my own illegal parking.

So my sister and brother-in-law won a reserved parking space near the school at a silent auction. There is a big sign with their names. Well, people park there all the time! How rude! My niece scopes it out and tells my sister, brother-in-law, or mom, whoever picks her up, if someone is parked there. Once my mom picked her up, and mom noticed someone parked there and pointed it out to Helen. Helen said, "Oh, it's ok, that's our friend, and mommy said if we're not parked there she can." Helen is so amazing, she has always known whose coat was whose, and whose Mommy and Daddy were whose, then when the parents came to pick the kids up, she would get the kid's coat for them and tell them their parents were here! She knew the car! She definitely takes after our side of the family!

I got a manicure today! Feels great!

Goodness, what a long post. I had better get some sleep now...good night!

...Quick affirmation..(5/18/02)...We did great at HH Gregg, very much in the adult, not worth out time to be mean to the salesman, just walking away was the perfect way to handle the situation. Way to go babe!

So what did I do yesterday? Not much, I worked in the evening. I got up late and drove over to my sister's house to deliver my brother-in-law's birthday present, then work. It wasn't too busy at work. We have a tech who is very quiet, he hardly speaks, it's a little strange. I wonder if he goes home and is all, "I can't believe work today, blah blah blah blah blah....and do you believe what Regina said? Blah blah blah blah...." Probably not. It was just a little weird to be back in the IV room with him, usually the techs and I chat, I kept coming out front just to be with people who talk!

I came home from work, 26 minutes from clock-out to in the door, a new record. I stayed up late puttering around and whatnot, then I slept in this morning/afternoon. I didn't do much today, I went to get some salt for my water softener, but the road is a mess and I didn't see an entrance to AquaSystems, I will try again Thursday. I went to get some topsoil, well, they have a little "shanty" for lack of a better word, that is removed from the main building, where you can pay for stuff. There was a forklift there and it looked like they were going to move it. But there was no one in the driver's seat of the forklift so I forged on and headed to load some 40# bags of topsoil onto my cart. A man came up to me and said, "Do you value your life?" (Most days, yeah!) "They're moving the building!" I reiterated that I didn't see anyone in the driver's seat, he was all, "I'm just kidding." Sorry, dude, I HAVE a sense of humor so I don't get it. So another guy comes up and tells me one of the bags is broken. OK, so he loaded 5 bags on my cart. I went to pay, then came back and surprise surprise another guy was there to load the bags in my car. He did a great job, lined the backseat with plastic and everything. I am used to having to serve myself, I feel invisible at times, and of course customer service isn't what is used to be.
There was a series of articles in the paper last week about how people are getting ruder. Must have been a slow news day. I mean, my mother taught me to say "Excuse me" when I was very small. I go to the YMCA and almost NONE of the kids ever says it, heck , about 80% of the adults don't say it. I usually say it, loudly, even when someone is pushing past me in a rude way, then I say something like, ",....is what you should have said but didn't!" Or, ",...I said it loud enough for both of us!" Who knows if they hear me, no one has ever said anything back. I am not just invisible, I am also not heard. Good thing I am used to it. Also my car is invisible, or at least it would seem so since people jut out in front of me all the time! "You just go RTF ahead," I say. R=right, T=the, figure out what the F stands for! I am trying not to take these things personally, everyone has "their stuff" as my therapist says, but even so, it doesn't make it any less annoying!

So then I went to see "High Crimes." It was playing at 4:20, I got there right at 4:20 and rushed in. The movie was just ending. I went out and asked if there was a 4:20 show, or was I wrong? The lady said there was no 4:20 show, the 2nd theater of High Crimes was not working. I looked at my ticket, it was for 5:05. SIGH! Oh, well, I read my book and then saw the movie. It was ok, you gotta love Morgan Freeman. Poor Ashley Judd, her movie husbands suck! They are so not the people they pretend to be!

I know all of you are dying to know if the Campbell's supper bake stuff warmed up ok.YES! Man, I went today to Meijer to get a couple more, they still had some with the deal where you can get the cool Tupperware with it.

Now I am hoping I can sleep tonight, I have only been up about 8 hours. I work in the IV room tomorrow, we are moving the IV room to the opposite corner of the pharmacy, won't that be fun? NOT! We are doing this Wed and Thurs, I am off Thurs so that's pretty much ok. I am going to a Continuing Education program at the Marten House tomorrow night, mmm..good food! My friend ML had her 30th birthday party there, yummy! Next week there is a free program at Ruth Chris Steak House...MMMMMMMMM!!!!!!! I haven't been to a program there for over 2 years. I faxed the form in and they faxed it back to "Regina Cohen, M.D." Hey! I got promoted! KEWL!
Well, off to try to sleep! Good night!

Well, a quick affirmation (5-18-02)...We couldn't find the CE at the Marten House, but we called the rep, and we were pleasant, and she was pleasant, and then we got to go to Cats for free! SWEET! See how it pays off? Go, girl!

Of course I was exhausted last night, I fell asleep during John Leguizamo's special, and when I woke up I was not tired so I didn't get to sleep til almost 2 am, then I slept off and on til about noon today, then dozed for about 45 minutes, I was out of bed and fully dressed by 2pm! YAY! (FUH!) Anyway I went to "Avenue," a plus-size clothing store, I tried on pants galore, one pair fit ok, I bought it. Red capris, cute, my sister says Red is really a neutral, goes with anything. Of course I get home and think "What the heck am I going to wear these pants with?" I guess I will have to ....BUY something :^)

New blogsticker...I made this one myself..I loved Sesame Street, still do! I miss Jim Henson, how sad that he died of sepsis. I remember watching the tribute show, it was so sad!

I saw "Monsoon Wedding" tonight...it's a very sweet movie, on the surface, lots of underlying subtext, and lots of beautiful men! Couldn't resist that last remark, but the men truly are beautiful! Kind of like "Queer as Folk," except these men want the women!
Much like RuPaul on her/his? blog, I give the movie a high recommendation. Check out RuPaul's blog HERE! If this link doesn't work, I will put a link over on the sidebar.

Maureen, another RPh at work, is, well, for lack of a better word, pale, like myself. She made the comment the other day that she is the whitest woman in the world, the product of the 2 whitest Irish people ever! Well, I said she couldn't possibly be paler than I am, so we compared arms. One of the techs said it was a tough call, because even though I am pale, I have an olive undertone to my skin. I never noticed this before but I think she is right. And that is very cool because my grandparents on my father's side came over from Greece in the early 20th century! I never felt like I had a Greek heritage (besides the fact that I LOVE boreccas) , but now I do...KEWL!

Tried Campbell's Supper Bakes tonight...YUMMY! Lemon Chicken and Herb Rice. If it warms up well, that will be the true test, it's so easy to make and they had a deal at Meijer where the Supper Bake came with a nice Tupperware container to store the leftovers! Very cool! "Real food!"

Tomorrow is my brother-in-law's birthday...he studied accounting, and was born on April 15, how crazy is that? I got him, under strict orders from my sister, a memory card for the PlayStation 2 my sister got "him." Of course, if he gets to play at all, wresting it away from my niece, it will be a miracle! Everyplace was out of them, but I got one off ebay. I got the "newer" one, the one that's supposed to be 100 times faster than the "old" one, I got an 8mb card, I was going to get the 16mb card but you have to boot up a CD every time you want to play a game if you use the 16mb card...caveat emptor!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE!

More happy events...Gary Turner of blogstickers.com is celebrating his wedding anniversary today! Go over to blostickers.com and give him and Mrs Blogsticker some love! :^)

Well, I am dying to see what happened on 6 Feet Under (no pun intended) so good night to all! I work evenings tomorrow, I don't have to get up at 5:30 am YYYYYYYAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quick affirmation (5-20-02)...How cool is that that someone noticed our "Greek underpinnings?" It's so cool to know where we come from...our family may be messed up at times but they are our family, and once we become strong, and in our "adult," we can handle them much better!
