New blogsticker! YAY! Man, it takes a while to update my other pages, but hey, it's fun! So let's see, what have I been up to???

So I posted a comment on Jason's blog and asked for his e-mail address, he doesn't have a link to e-mail him from his site as I do to e-mail me from mine. He said it was because of the spam...well, I told him, now I am telling you, there is a cool site out there (one of many to provide this service) which will encode your e-mail address into decimal characters, so the "e-mail scavenging robots" (sounds like a bad movie on Showtime Beyond!) can't recognize it! YAY! Beat the spammers! Click HERE to encode your e-mail address, or do a web search, there are lots of sites, it's cool to think we are beating the scammers, I mean, spammers (or was I right the first time?) at their own game! :^) BTW The Onion (see the link on the sidebar, under "If you're not reading this you should be!) or just click HERE to see a hilarious article about why there is so much spam; apparently the powerful penis enlargement lobby has been vehemently opposing anti-spam legislation. I know I get a lot of penis enlargement e-mails, well, I don't think those things work, especially for women! :^) The article, and the Onion in general are so funny! I heard on NPR that a Chinese news service picked up a story from the Onion, not realizing it was a satirical newspaper, and published it as real news! It was a story about Congress threatening to leave Washington unless they built a better building for them...too funny!

I saw "Lovely and Amazing" tonight, the air conditioning wasn't working but it wasn't too bad, the movie was good, sad but good. It's about a dysfunctional family, the mom adopted a young black girl after her 2 other daughters were already grown, the mom and her 2 daughters are so vain, and sad, and lonely, and the black girl is fat and sad and acting out all over the place. Catherine Keener is an amazing actress, she was so great in "Being John Malkovich" and she continues her amazing run in this movie. I highly recommend it to all! Even in a hot theater it's a "cool" movie...man, I am so funny!

It was too hot to do anything much these last couple of days...it must be global warming--but don't blame me, I voted for Al Gore!
I went to the Allisonville Nursery yesterday and got some potting soil for my flower beds, but it was too hot to spread it out, also too hot today, maybe tomorrow evening, before Sex and the City! I hope they start showing The Sopranos again before the season premiere, I have been catching up on The Sopranos via DVD, and the 3rd season is not available yet, so anyway, I know, I am a latecomer, whatever! It's a good show, I really have enjoyed catching up, I saw bits and pieces when waiting for 6 Feet Under or Sex and the City to come on, but I never really knew what was going on. Nancy Marchand just astounded me, I can't believe that's the same woman who played the prissy editor on "Lou Grant!" Too cool! I miss her!

I watched "Wet Hot American Summer" last night...it was ok, made fun of teen camp movie genre stereotypes at the same time as it perpetuated them. Janeane Garafolo and David Hyde Pierce were flawless as always, Paul Rudd played a stud who was a real d**k. He almost never plays a jerk, he was pretty good at it, what an actor! What a body! What was the question? Oh, I am back now!

I also saw most of "Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood;" what a title! It was so funny! Stupid, yes, corny, mostly, but so so funny! Just a good movie to watch and laugh at, without thinking too much. The Wayans brothers are geniuses at parody! I miss "In Living Color," well, not the last season but most of it!

So I have to go back to work Tuesday--BAH! Oh, well, I had a nice vacation; I accomplished a few things and also relaxed and was a big bum, which is a good thing. I saw lots of movies and did some shopping, well, whatever, I guess it had to end...SIGH!

Well, it's late and I have to sleep (I hope I will sleep, I haven't done too much of that the last couple of nights) so...…now it is time once again for "The Daily (Almost) Affirmation to The Little Girl", the little girl inside me who for 30 years or more has been my protector….
Well, we've had a nice vacation and it's not over yet! We still have 2 full days to play! YAY! And like Susan says, work is good for us! It helps reinforce a sense of accomplishment and keeps us focused in the "adult." We are appreciated at this job more than at any other we have had! Let's make the most of our last 2 days of vacation, and go back to work with a relaxed attitude! Good night, sleep tight! This to us both! I love you!

So I went to the blogger meetup tonight...it was fun! I met JessMonkey (aka Jessica) and her husband Chimpuat (aka Damon) and Jason (all have links to their blogs over on the sidebar!) Strangely enought, Jessica had her monkey-themed blog and Chimpuat had his monkey-themed blog before they even met...so they were destined to be together, no doubt! They are a cute couple, playfully teasing each other and all. Jason is a cool guy, a true nerd and techno-geek, I say that will all love, he doesn't mind..Jessica was coughing and saying "Nerd! Geek!" and he was like "You don't have to cough!" She did the same to me and I was all, "Babe, you don't have to cough with me either!" I am a nerd and proud of it! :^P

We met at NetHeads, an internet cafe in the "hip" BroadRipple section of town. I had never been there, you can get internet access for $3 for 30 min or the low low price of $6 for 60 min! We talked for a while then checked out each others' websites. I also showed the gang my "collection" of blogstickers on Blogstickers.com(Page 12) I must say mine was the least technologically advanced but I don't care, Jess & Chimp are young and have lots of free time, and Jason does web design professionally (Chimp hopes to do this too), so no biggie! I was very impressed with all the sites. The mystery blogger, "Prock," didn't show up. Bummer! I made him/her/it a nametag and everything! I made everyone a nametag, including a blogsticker on each. Mine had the "blog camp" blogsticker, for Jason I used the "This blog made with 100% recycled electrons (because Jason went to Rose Hulman as did my friend who inspired said blogsticker)..for Chimp I noted his rantings (said with all love, Chimp! You crack me up) and used the blogsticker, "As a matter of fact, I DO own the blog!"); For Jess, "What part of "blog" don't you understand?" and for Prock, who, yeah, that's right, buddy, MISSED OUT on a SWEET nametag, not to mention some good company, "Of all the blogs on the web..this is one of them!"
If you're out there "Prock" I expect an explanation of why you didn't show, and it better be good! :^P E-mail me! NOW!
...I also made some nametags for unexpected guests...with lines for their names and "Wouldn't you like to be a blogger too?" blogstickers...no unexpected guests, well, at least I was prepared!! I took some pics, when I finish the roll (yes, I am a Luddite when it comes to cameras, I can't go all digital yet, I have the Kodak Advantix Preview camera, it lets you see the last pic you took, but only the last pic, and you can delete pics but it will still take up film, it just won't process), I will put up some pics on my image hosting site. Of course I will notify my loyal reader(s?) of this!!

My mother and I went to the mall as planned and visited the Nomination Bracelet kiosk. See the sidebar for a cool link to a nominations bracelet website, or just click HERE for now, anyway, it was a bust! They had a cool new way to make a bracelet, using a leather strap with slide-on charms, but the selection of charms was VERY limited! Bummer! And I didn't see any charms I wanted that I didn't already have..so I think I will order a computer charm and maybe some other stuff from the website. They are giving free starter bracelets out too, very cool!!

I tried on a bunch of clothes but nothing did anything for me. Not my day, I guess! Lunch was ok, we ate at the Nordstrom Grille; the fries were overcooked and not so great, the chicken sandwich was yummy!

I lugged out 2 more "old" "dead" entertainment centers to the end of the driveway with the garbage, man, I hope they take the stuff away! Think good thoughts! As I drove back from the "meetup" I saw a lot of people in the complex had put out large items (water heater, ancient HUGE microwave) so hopefully all will be well!!

…and now it is time once again for "The Daily (Almost) Affirmation to The Little Girl", the little girl inside me who for 30 years or more has been my protector….

Well, we had fun tonight..just hung out, talked with some friendly, well-informed people, I hope we can see them again! I know it's hard to "put ourselves out there" but we did it! YAY! US! Go girl! I am so proud of you! See how good things can happen when we are strong, and "in the adult?" Yes, it is not too late! As we go forth in our healing things will get even better! Good night, sleep tight! This to us both! I love you!

I typed a longish post last night, then when searching for a website to link to, all for you the loyal reader, well, yes, the new window obliterated the post BAH!
So here is just one quick thing then I have to meet my mom..we're going downtown, J S Marten, a local jeweler, has opened a nomination bracelet kiosk. What's a nomination bracelet you ask? Just click HERE to check it out. Right now on my bracelet I have the American Flag link, a link reading "USA" in red white & blue letters, a heart, a little boy and little girl charm for my niece and nephew, a camera, because I love to take pictures, a cell phone, a movie projector, a ying/yang symbol, the word "HOPE," a peace sign and a Jewish Star. I want to get a Pisces symbol and whatever else cute I can find. The computer icon and emoticons are very cute on the Heavenly Treasures site.

Anyhooooo....didn't do much yesterday, I was going to get up and be productuve but I had a migraine. I took some medication, but it didn't kick in til after dinner :^( Oh, well, at least I have some time off work to be lazy !!

So the blogger meetup is tonight...JessMonkey and Chimpuat, a married blogger couple, are coming, as am I, and a 4th local blogger calling him/her self "Prock" is coming too! YAY! We have 4 bloggers so once again, our meetup is saved! Thanks to the PowerProck Girl...or is it Boy? If you're out there Prock send me a link to your blog, I'd love to check it out before the meetup.

Saw the PPG movie Tuesday, it wasn't so good, there were a few laughs but all in all not exactly worth the SIX dollars it cost to go to a movie at 2:40 pm! GAH!

…and now it is time once again for "The Daily (Almost) Affirmation to The Little Girl", the little girl inside me who for 30 years or more has been my protector….
It will be fun to meet some new people tonight! Jessmonkey seems nice and you guys already have something in common! Going to new places and meeting new people is a good thing, "putting ourselves out there" is cool! More later! I love you!

Quick post..then..sleep! I went back and added affirmations to ALL my posts, well, the posts on the Tripod blog were a little all over the place, but I have to let it go, it's fine, a little wacky but fine! I loved adding the affirmations, that is some good stuff..you know, I won a writing award in High School! Anyway, today was productive, I went to the gym, came home, packed up a lot of stuff in my car to give to Goodwill, and some other stuff to pitch, then did some straightening up around the house, then went to see "Road to Perdition" (excellent movie, knockout ending!) then took the stuff to Goodwill & to pitch, then came home, loaded up some more stuff, then went to pitch it, then came home and tried to clean up my Tripod blog.

Tomorrow I plan to clean out the garage, there is nothing really to remove, just need to sweep out the many many MANY dead bugs and probably some live ones, too bad for them, they will be dead before I get through with them. Then I will head to Allisonville Nursery to get some potting soil for my flower beds, and hopefully they will have some nice asters for me to plant. That will be sweet! Then I hope to see the PowerPuff Girls movie, yeah, I have read some not-so-great reviews but I love that show and I gots-ta-gots-ta see that movie!

Well, it is late and I am beat, hopefully that means some good sleep...

…so now it is time once again for "The Daily (Almost) Affirmation to The Little Girl", the little girl inside me who for 30 years or more has been my protector….
Today we were productive! We got so much done! De-junking our lives is a good thing! We did it last summer, now we are doing even more! KEWL! Simplify, simplify...yes, clutter is comforting, but there are things we need and things we don't, and hopefully we are able to tell the difference! It's so nice to have a break from work so we can do things we have been putting off. Good night, sleep tight! This to us both! I love you!
